Glossop Heritage Weekend is happening on Friday 31st May- Sunday 2nd June 2024. Partington Theatre are playing a major part of it.

Partington Theatre has been a part of Glossop’s rich history for almost 70 years.  This year we are taking on the Heritage Weekend with the enthusiasm and gusto of our forebears had for the Victorian Weekend. Our planning for what promises to be a fabulous weekend for the town is underway.

We are bringing back the afternoon teas but with a difference. Our clubroom will be styled as Partington Mess Hall and Cafe and various themed performances will be happening in the theatre and  Norfolk Square during the whole weekend.

• A gazebo on Henry Street for face painting and tombola/raffle – this is our signpost into the theatre.
• Drama workshops on stage.
• A newly written melodrama to be performed on stage throughout the weekend.
• An additional short sketch to be performed on stage throughout the weekend.
• A float in the parade.
• Photography stand with scale model Spitfire.
• And the piece de resistance, newly written, immersive extravaganza, taking place on the Saturday evening, encompassing the story of World War 2 in its entirety – Ticketed Event: Courage to Continue
