GLOSSOPERA returns to the Partington Theatre on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 December at 7.30pm for their annual Christmas Opera Galas. Artistic Director, Claire Surman, is joined by four professional opera singers, with the inimitable Ben Powell on piano, for this feast of festive fun!

The galas will feature operatic solos and ensembles, together with some lighter songs and Christmas classics. Alongside Claire and Ben, this year’s line up is: Catriona Clark (soprano), Louise Collett (mezzo), Connor Smith (tenor) and Douglas Nairne (baritone). All have performed with the top opera companies and orchestras in the UK (including Glyndebourne, Opera North,  Scottish Opera, Welsh National Opera) and overseas.

Audiences have described the galas as:

‘the highlight of the Christmas calendar’

‘a feast for the ears, eyes and the heart. Top class entertainment’

‘a wonderful opportunity to see the amazing talent you would only normally expect to see in a national theatre so up-close and personal. A lovely family experience’

‘A total must for the newbies to this beautiful world of music. Your company opened my eyes to a new world of music’

‘Highly enjoyable! Very funny performances’
