From the Chair

PUBLISHED: July 17, 2026

As our 2025/6 Season comes to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to thank every volunteer, who has contributed in whatever way towards the smooth running of our theatre.  Without your help and support, we would not be able to manage and maintain the building, run the charity, welcome the community into the building or present our annual season on plays.  So, on behalf of the Trustees please accept our gratitude and heartfelt appreciation.

Our Season of 6 plays has been highly successful and throughout the year we have hosted a wealth of diverse arts events and activities.  Our Youth Theatre remain strong and vital part of the charity, under the leadership of Hope Davenport and assistant, Freya Rowland and they strive to showcase their talents with performances on the stage.  Most recently they performed at the Heritage Weekend.

Partington Theatre, as most of you are aware, is very close to my heart and long may it continue, but in order for that to happen we need your support.  We currently have only three Trustees who are working hard behind the scenes.  This year we have been proactive in creating teams to work on Finance, Programming, Marketing and Publicity and Partington Players, but we need a few more people to join those teams.  We are also seeking to create a Health and Safety and Safeguarding Team, so if you have any experience any of these areas, then please contact us.

Another area which the Trustees have been looking into is how to generate more income and reduce our current costs.  There has been significant headway on this but we do need a substantial funding for some major renovation work which is required.  We would welcome anyone with experience in Grant Funding to join us.

Over the summer we will be busy doing jobs in all areas of the theatre in preparation for the new season, so if you have a spare evening or weekend, then why not come along?

Just a reminder that membership is due on the 1st August and we are introducing a new optional membership level. Details of which are in the newsletter.

Also, if you love our Season’s Plays, why not invest in a Season Ticket and see five plays for the price of four (excluding the Pantomime).

All that remains for me is to wish you all a wonderful summer holiday.

Do you wish to become an effective part of our vibrant and hard-working Theatre?

If so, we would love to hear from you!
