join partington TheatreVolunteers welcome for our Costume Department. If you can share your precious time, we're always looking for the right people to join our team!
The costume team manage the Partington’s treasure trove of a wardrobe and are responsible for sourcing, sewing and fitting costumes for each production.
Costumes are such a fabulous part of theatre – they help tell the story, they help actors get into character, and they immediately tell the audience something about what’s going on.
REsPOnsiBilitiEs
Responsibilities of the Costume Department include:
- Measuring the cast
- Sourcing or sewing costumes
- Alterations
- Helping with quick changes during performances
- Helping the public or members who want to hire out costumes
cOMMITTMEnt
Production specific. For Panto in particular we always welcome extra sewers, no need for a year round commitment if you just want to get involved in the run up to Christmas.
sKills
Did we mention sewing? Alteration and patchwork skills is a big assett on this team.
tEMPERaMEnt
Anyone – we’re a friendly bunch 🙂 …although you must be able to ‘put up’ with the demands of the Director.
