Partington Theatre Triumphs at 2024/2025 GMDF Awards

In what was Partington Players 70th Season, we are delighted and very proud to announce that this year we received 9 Nominations and 1 surprise nomination, announced on the night.

The Greater Manchester Drama Federation’s Full Length Play Festival Awards were recently announced at their coveted Awards Ceremony held at the Last Drop Village Hotel, Bolton.

The GMDF is a revered awarding body that attends 43 Amateur Theatres throughout the region covering approximately 258 amateur theatre performances.

The festival recognises outstanding performances in community theatre across the region. The winners, whose compelling portrayals captivated audiences, have brought significant recognition to Partington Theatre, reaffirming its reputation as a hub for exceptional talent.

Following on from the success of last year’s in which Partington Players received 11 Nominations and won 3 awards, this year’s competition was no exception

GMDF Nominations for Partington Players:

  • Best Lighting Design –  Gwen of Camelot
  • Best Comedy Performance – Billy Dwyer as Sir Teddy Laugh-A-Lot in Gwen of Camelot
  • Best Youth Performance – Tasha Woodham as Morgana Le Fey in Gwen of Camelot
  • Best Principal Girl – Katy Nicholls as Gwen in Gwen of Camelot
  • Best Script – Zoë Bowers for Gwen of Camelot
  • Best Supporting Male Actor – Mike Brown as Sir Lawrence in And Then There Were None
  • Best Supporting Male Actor – Sam Scott for his roles of Tom, Phyliss and Leslie in Sylvia
  • Best Director – Jayne Skudder for Sylvia
  • Best Female Actor – Katy Nicholls for Sylvia in Sylvia

And the surprise nomination…

  • Best Production – Sylvia

Out of the above nominations two actors from Partington Players have been awarded a prestigious GMDF Award for their standout performances.

GMDF 2024/25 Season Winners are:

  • Tasha Woodham – Best Youth Female Performer for her role as Morgana-Le-Fey in the Pantomime Gwen of Camelot.
  • Katy Nicholls – Best Female Performer for her role as Sylvia (the dog) in Sylvia.
